Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz said the bombing of the theater in Mariupol was another sign that Vladimir Putin’s forces were using more brutal tactics.
Przydacz told the BBC he agreed with US President Joe Biden’s characterization of the Russian leader as a “war criminal”.
“The Kremlin believed that the Ukrainian government would evaporate somewhat. It was not so. Ukrainians are very brave in defending their land and values, their democracy, the country they have built, they have built for the last 30 years. So now Putin decided to hit the civilian infrastructure. And what’s worse, I saw a picture that is about this theater, it was written on the sidewalk that there are children inside. “This did not stop Mr. Putin from bombing this and he really is, as President Biden called him, a war criminal,” Przydacz said.
