The President of the Republic Ilir Meta this Wednesday has decreed four laws proposed and approved by the government, which are related to the cooperation between Albania, Northern Macedonia and Italy, as well as some changes in the agreement for the supply of the Pfizer vaccine.
Among the laws decreed by the president, two concern the relations between Northern Macedonia and Albania for a common border crossing point.
Meta has also enacted the law on facilities for procedures for allocating doses of Pfizer vaccine and in cases where they are donated from other countries.
The Head of State says that the establishment of facilities in the allocation procedures of Pfizer doses, even when they are donated by other states, is an obligation of state bodies, to guarantee an uninterrupted supply of the coronavirus vaccine.
The President of the Republic, Sh.TZ Ilir Meta has decreed by promulgation four laws, as follows:
1. Law no. 116/2021 “On the ratification of the financing agreement between the Republic of Albania, represented by the Council of Ministers, the Republic of Northern Macedonia, represented by the Secretariat for European Affairs, and the European Commission for the IPA II Cross-Border Cooperation Action Program, Northern Macedonia -Albania 2014-2020, allocations for 2020 ”.
The North Macedonia-Albania Cooperation Program, which has as its main goal to contribute to the socio-economic development of cross-border areas and to increase cooperation between the two countries, through joint interventions, has been assessed as a real support for the needs of both countries. .
2. Law no. 117/2021 “On the ratification of the agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of the Republic of Northern Macedonia on the establishment of joint border crossing points between the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Northern Macedonia”.
This agreement is aimed at facilitating the movement of citizens and vehicles across the border, while strengthening cooperation to meet common security interests.
3. Law no. 118/2021 “On the ratification of the amending agreement by exchange of notes of the agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of the Italian Republic for the implementation of the program for preparation of feasibility studies and drafting at final level and environmental impact study in the sector of infrastructure, ratified by law no. 86/2016 ”.
This agreement and the support of the Italian Government, is a valuable contribution to the realization of an efficient national road network that favors the exchange of passengers and goods with border countries and with the rest of Europe, as well as inside Albania.
4. Law no. 119/2021 “On the approval of the normative act, with the force of law no. 32, dated 5.11.2021 “On the approval of the text of some changes in the agreement for production and supply from and between Pfizer Export BV and the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Albania, the Minister of State for Reconstruction and the Institute of Public Health, approved by act normative no. 3, dated 18.1.2021 of the Council of Ministers ””.
Establishing facilities in Pfizer dose allocation procedures, even when they are donated by other states, is a constant obligation of state bodies to guarantee an uninterrupted supply of the anticovid vaccine.
