A prisoner in Alabama, USA who went missing along with a ‘correctional officer’ while being transported to a staged meeting, was recently published in the photo by the authorities.
38-year-old Casey Cole White, missing along with Lauderdale sheriff’s assistant Vicki White, 56 – seen in photos published yesterday in the prison orange overalls.
The couple was last seen only on Friday morning when they left the jail, authorities said.
An extensive hunt has begun for them and a $ 10,000 reward has been offered by the authorities for information leading to their capture.
Casey White “is believed to be a threat to both the officer who is with him and the public,” said Marty Keely, of the Alabama Police Department.
The convict was jailed for two murders in September 2020, during the stabbing of Connie Ridgeway.
He was serving a 75-year prison sentence for a series of crimes in 2015, including the armed kidnapping of six people, the network reports. WBRC reported.
While Vicki White told colleagues she was taking the inmate for a mental health assessment, even though such a meeting did not exist on the prison chart, according to Sheriff Rick Singleton.
The latter added that Vicki White was alone while transporting the prisoner, which is a serious breach of security policy.
“Everything signals that White was involved and involved in the escape. “We are just trying to understand if this was done of her own free will or she was forced or threatened,” he added.
Singleton said Vicki had worked with the department for 17 years and had been voted four times employee of the year by her colleagues.
Authorities said they checked the security cameras of the area where their car was found abandoned, but did not reveal images if they had taken another vehicle, writes CNN .
In 2020, Casey White had planned a hostage escape from prison without being caught by staff, Singleton told CNN.
As Vicki’s ex-mother-in-law told Daily Mail that the officer is a “loved one” who would never help a prisoner escape.
“I do not understand how she ran away with a man who is a murderer,” 88-year-old Frances White told the media.
