Problems after the cyber attack/ Patients could not receive medical prescriptions. Service is being restored

The citizens, mostly elderly, although they had the prescriptions, could not get the medicines, as the system was not opened.

“It is an abnormal situation that has been created in relation to the prescription system, since Saturday the system has not worked and we have been unable to execute citizens’ prescriptions. Pensioners are the ones who have been the most interested. During these days, we did not have any information about when the reimbursement system would return to normal”. says Kleida Blliku, pharmacist.

Not having the opportunity to enter the system, some pharmacies have chosen to give them the medicines since many of the patients have diseases that require daily medication.

“Since most of the patients with regurgitation are chronic patients with diseases that definitely need medication, we have marked them by giving you the necessary medications, and then when the system is restored we will do our calculations. This happened to patients who are regular near our pharmacy, not to all. There were also patients who did not understand the problem and were agitated due to the fact that they could not receive the monthly medications they needed”.

During today, the system of medical services has started to function but not completely. Despite this return, citizens have to face another problem.

“Today is the fifth day that we have problems with the reimbursement system, but as you are trying now, the system is coming back recently, with a load but it is coming back. here is another problem, the system opened, but the prescriptions were canceled, as they have a code that is only valid for a few days. Citizens who have been canceled must go to the family doctor again to get the prescription”

Although not fully and with load, the system has also returned to health centers, but still many other services offered by e-Albania are not accessible to citizens.
