President Vladimir Putin’s speech at the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg has been postponed for an hour.
The reason for the postponement of the speech is said to be a cyber attack that caused the system to shut down.
Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a phone call to reporters that the cyber attack had started on Thursday and deactivated the accreditation and guest reception system on the forum, leading to a host of access problems.
He said specialists were working to resolve the issue and that Putin’s keynote address had been shifted to 15:00 Moscow time.
