The candidate for chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, during the meeting with Lezha supporters, emphasized that at the head of the party and with the elections that are expected to be held on May 22, he will restore the free vote in the country.
“Pressures, threats, most of them were made against you. You are threatened. It was requested not to follow this move, but all attempts failed. The censorship that was imposed on our activity failed. Unimaginable campaign to discourage our effort failed. The government’s savage attacks on this movement failed. In all these conditions we reached an epic battle against the autocracy which demanded that Albania not have opposition. He demanded that the opposition be removed from the nose. They used lawsuits, but what was the result? It was failure. We achieved our right, today, to be a real opposition of Albania and Albanians. “
“Our battle is for the vote, because it was ousted, but it is freedom. The law is not made without a free vote. It was tragic that our former president followed the path of the ruling government, he excluded the vote. We were kicking at the most vital interest of this nation among the most ancient, which is in vital need of freedom, the free vote. The whole effort of the Albanians has been an effort for freedom. Those who declare on screens that Albanians have not fought. Albanians only have wars. All wars are made for more rights, freedom. Even when they have been under centuries of occupation. So we managed to build our party on the free interest of its members. Now, the continuation of our mission is vital for Albania“, Said Berisha.
