Gazment Bardhi calls the process for the election of the new President a farce, as he says that “Edi Rama has predetermined the head of state”.
“Since the beginning of the procedure for the election of the President, this group has publicly said that Edi Rama has predetermined the President. The opposition had to enter the process to tear down the facade mask as if it wanted a consensual President.
In respect of our constituents, we did not boycott the process, we offered in principle the rules of a comprehensive and consensual process, to offer Albanians a consensual President. The majority publicly agreed to the proposed procedure proposed by us. Only after the start of the process and the proposals with the specific names of the group, Edi Rama withdrew from the agreement. Following the withdrawal from the public agreement, I think our group should consider this process closed. Edi Rama broke the agreement with the opposition, because he does not want a President for the Albanians. Edi Rama withdrew from the agreement because he predetermined the President.
Therefore, I think that the group should come up with a statement to clarify this position and we should not continue with this as the mask of the facade of Edi Rama has fallen.
