The Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime has received strong criticism from Prime Minister Edi Rama for its performance of almost three years so far.
The rhetoric chosen by Rama in the address of SPAK was harsh and hinted that for the Prime Minister this structure is close to the failure of its mission, funded and strongly supported by the US and the EU.

Edi Rama expressed zero concern about the arrest by SPAK of former Minister Lefter Koka, former Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment Alqi Bllako or the socialist mayor of Lushnja Fatos Tushe.
He is concerned about the issues that the SPAK gives priority to investigate.
“SPAK in a flash, as if it was coordinated like a Swiss clock with that gentleman who in a few days or weeks will finally leave the office of the president of the republic. From the SP national assembly, Rama’s criticism of the SPAK continued for corrupt judges and prosecutors caught by the vetig network but continuing to enjoy their corrupt money.

In the name of guaranteeing the continuation of the justice reform, Edi Rama also had this call for SPAK.
“Ladies and gentlemen of SPAK, wake up and defend Albania. If Albania today is ashamed in front of a non women, a dead man who opposes this people and the world, this shame has only one to bear, SPAK. Nobody else! Whoever has read the mandate of the Secretary of State, it is very clear that it is up to the justice institutions in Albania to do their job based on that conclusion drawn by the State Department and this is not for America, I repeat. My revolt and ours is not that America is offending us or that America is being insulted to say the same word, no, not at all! “It’s that justice is being challenged and that the SPAk and the whole new justice system are being delegitimized, which has confused the tasks of the state’s top control with the tasks of the special prosecutor’s office.”
