The Prime Minister of Albania, as he had announced, presented on the afternoon of March 12 the package of Social Resistance to the consequences of the global energy crisis and the war in Ukraine on prices is taking final shape.
But before starting the presentation, Rama said that he felt ashamed that Albania is the only country in NATO and Europe where he protests about the consequences of the war in Ukraine.
He brought to the attention again, that the energy bill has not been affected for months and that the family members and the small business do not pay it themselves, but pay it together with the Government.
“We are paying 80% of this bill, no country in the world has done that,” said Rama, who cited growth in Kosovo and northern Macedonia as examples. According to the Prime Minister, this costs the state 650 million euros every year.
He emphatically said that oil taxes will not be removed because the price of energy will not rise.
“The government will pay only 50% of the oil expenses for the officials, the rest,” Rama explained, “let them pay out of pocket.”
