Democrat leader Lulzim Basha has openly challenged former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, organizing an activity during the National Assembly.
Tomorrow, December 11, at the founding of the Democratic Party, Basha sent an invitation to the Democrats to be in the blue headquarters.
At a time when Sali Berisha will organize the Assembly convened by him, Lulzim Basha will gather other activities of the party to celebrate the 31st anniversary of the founding of the DP.
Invitation of Lulzim Basha
Although it has been publicly said that Berisha and his supporters will vote in favor of dismissing Basha, the latter is not afraid of this movement.
Even the leader of the Democrats will be inside the headquarters of the Democratic Party at the same time when the Assembly of Berisha will take place.
We recall that the historical leader of the Democratic Party has announced that he will not withdraw from the organization of the National Assembly of December 11, he even invited Lulzim Basha and the deputies of the Democratic Party to be part.
Afterwards, Gazment Bardhi, general secretary of the Democratic Party, insisted that the only legitimate National Council of this party is that of December 18th. Bardhi argued this through several figures:
“69% of the delegates of the National Assembly have confirmed their participation on 18 December. “5259 members of the National Assembly of the Democratic Party or 69% of the members did not respond to the divisive call of Mr. Berisha to tear the confirmation forms. In total, by an absolute majority, 5,259 members of the National Assembly have confirmed so far”.
“The PD headquarters is owned by the Democrats. We have not closed the door to whom, the irresponsible statement, if you refer to the spokesperson of the rostrum, does not tell us what they are doing
The next day, December 11, 2021, the National Assembly convened by Berisha is expected to convene at the “Air Albani” stadium.
Participating delegates will have the opportunity to vote on the re-establishment of the Democratic Party, which former Prime Minister Berisha intends to lead again.
In his previous speeches, Berisha has stated that he does not see as an obstacle for the future of the Democratic Party the fact that it has been declared ‘non grata’ by the United States, as he insists that it is a decision based on facts and evidence.
The former prime minister also denies that the move undertaken by him, to eliminate Basha, is a personal revenge against the Democratic chairman for leaving the parliamentary group, as a result of the decision of the US State Department.
