The Special Court has abolished the measure of house arrest against former Deputy Minister of the Interior Rovena Voda. The latter addressed a request to the GJKKO, for extinguishment of the measure, after the sentence has ended.
Journalist Anila Hoxha told Top Channel that after the review, the court accepted Voda’s request, canceling the security measure against her. In April of this year, the former ministry was sentenced by the special court against corruption and organized crime to 10 months in prison.
The former senior official was found guilty of “illegal influence on persons exercising public functions”. Voda was found guilty of accepting monetary values to influence Beu’s employment in the ministry.
Referring to the investigation of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, three meetings were held between Voda, Florinda Beu and Majlinda Hasani in February-March 2020 at the Ministry of the Interior and in Durrës. They were intercepted while talking about giving an envelope with 1,000 euros to Voda and were filmed in a bar in Durrës, while giving the deputy minister a mobile phone.
Regarding the third episode, SPAK says that Voda went to the port with the vehicle of the Ministry of the Interior that she held as a high-ranking official and her driver to get a crate of fish.
