The war in Ukraine has entered its second month, while it is reported that this Sunday there was also a record in terms of the number of bombings.
In Kiev alone in the last 24 hours the regional military administration of Kiev informs in the Telegram that over 30 bombings have been recorded.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry has denounced for the first time the use of cluster bombs, which are illegal as weapons. They are alleged to have been used in the attack of Russian forces in Krasnohorivka, in the Donetsk region, on civilian objects.
Also around the Russian-occupied Chernobyl nuclear power plant, there are reported to be more than 31 fires, while radioactive radiation levels have increased.
Ukrainian MP Inna Sovsun said on Twitter: “The fire can not be extinguished because this territory is not controlled by Ukraine.”
The fires allegedly come after Russian forces fired rockets at a nuclear research facility in the besieged city of Kharkiv. Dry and windy weather is expected to increase the intensity and surface area of fires, which could lead to environmental disasters if it affects nuclear storage facilities.
As for the cessation of hostilities, the next round of talks between Ukraine and Russia will be held on March 28-30 in Turkey, according to Ukrainian negotiator David Arkahamia, without specifying where they will meet.
