Right-wing nationalist leaders such as Hungary’s Viktor Orban and France’s Marine Le Pen came today to their ‘Defending Europe’ summit in Madrid.
This week’s summit will include leaders of right-wing European parties, including the Spanish Vox.
The meeting comes two months after a similar meeting in Warsaw in December, followed by today’s meeting hosted by the Vox party, the third largest in Spain’s parliament.
“The aim is to continue the work started at the Warsaw Summit, to protect Europe from internal threats by offering an alternative to globalist tendencies,” said the Vox leader.
Other representatives included Polish Prime Minister Mateus Moraviecki, French presidential candidate Le Pen, and right-wing leaders from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, Romania and the Netherlands.
The previous group is missing the Italian head of Lega, Mateo Salvini, who has changed direction by joining the current government in the country.
