Russian officials have confirmed that the deputy commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, Andrei Paly, was killed during fighting in Mariupol.
Earlier, Ukraine reported another loss to Putin that has already been confirmed by Russia itself. Paly’s death was initially confirmed by Nakhimov Maritime College Secretary Konstantin Tsarenko on the social network Vkontakte (VK).
Later, a Russian senator from Sevastopol made a post in VK where he said that “Sevastopol has suffered a heavy, irreparable loss… Paly died in the battles for the liberation of Mariupol from the Nazis”.
Ukrainians have reported the deaths of five Russian generals in fighting that began on February 24. Russia has officially confirmed only one of these victims – General Andrei Sukhovetsky.
