Russia’s ambassador to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, has claimed that Moscow forces have found evidence of an attempt to purge evidence of biological weapons in Ukraine.
According to him, Russian forces had found evidence of a network of “at least 30” biological research laboratories aimed at strengthening some “deadly diseases”.
He said very dangerous biological experiments were carried out in coordination with the US.
Nebenzya gave no evidence of his allegations, so he has been dismissed by UN disarmament chief Izumi Nakamitsu. The latter has said he is not aware of any biological weapons program in Ukraine.
The United States has called Russia’s claims “ridiculous” and said it could use them to justify its possible use of similar weapons against Ukraine.
