“With great concern I followed the capture near Izmir of a record amount of drugs launched by sea from Albania. 1.5 tons of drugs is one of the largest quantities trafficked from Albania to Turkey by sea, which shows that the production of hashish, in this case the latest type of skunk, and its trafficking by organized crime groups, continues at high rates in the country. I call on the Government, law enforcement and security institutions in the country to show the necessary political will, as well as to strengthen professional capacities and cooperation on the ground, to prevent such cases, which constitute black records for the country.
