Serbian courts in Vranje and Bujanovac have launched a series of summonses for certain Albanian personalities in the Presevo Valley, which the Serbian prosecution accuses of violating laws.
The former director of the House of Culture in Bujanovac, Granit Sadriu, was summoned to court on the grounds that he had violated the law by leaving one of the halls of this institution for the manifestation of the National Flag Day.
“This is a violation of human rights. “In other countries in the 21st century, people think about economic development,” Sadriu told RTK.
On the other hand, the Special Department of the Nis Prosecutor’s Office has filed an indictment against MP Shaip Kamberi for exceeding budget allocations when he was mayor of Bujanovac.
“I will face this indictment in legal terms, and if I see that the accusation is political, I will respond politically,” said Kamberi.
The current mayor of Presevo, Ardita Sinani, and the former mayor, Shqipërim Arifi, are also facing indictments from Serbian courts.
For Jeton Ismaili from civil society, such actions by Serbian courts are unacceptable and biased.
“These are a form of pressure that is increasing every day, especially against Albanian intellectuals, whose final goal seems to be the abandonment of these lands by Albanians.”
Serbia is on the verge of early parliamentary elections, while Albanians are again expected to run in a joint electoral list. Telegraph
