A vacation at a tourist resort in Egypt proved fatal for an Austrian tourist after she was attacked by a shark while swimming on the beaches of Sharm El Sheikh.
As soon as the 68-year-old tourist saw the shark approaching her, she tried to swim to the shore as fast as she could, but unfortunately she was unable to escape. In front of horrified holidaymakers in Sharm El Sheikh in the Red Sea, the shark cuts off her arm and leg.
As a result of the attack, she died a little later, while being transported by ambulance to the hospital due to bleeding.
After the shocking event, the tourists who recorded the scene with their mobile phones, reacted harshly to the lack of lifeguards on the beach, who could have intervened to save the victim.
Local authorities banned swimming, diving and fishing in the surrounding area for three days for fear of the reappearance of other sharks in those waters.
