Shocking details about child sexual abuse in an orphanage on the outskirts of Athens were revealed by Deputy Minister of Employment Domna Michailidou, during an interview on private television ANT1 on Thursday morning.
She has accused the women working in this institution as perpetrators of this sexual abuse and has filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court. Specifically, according to her, they pushed children aged 7 to 11 living in orphanages to have sex. The Deputy Minister published this scandal after a letter of accusations sent by three people to this specific structure regarding the sexual abuse of children.
The female clerks saw the little boys in sexual acts and now investigations are being carried out in that there were also video recordings of these acts.
As stated by Ms. Michailidou in this case were involved at least 4 young children who were sheltered in orphanages, while most of them were transferred to this institution following an order from the prosecutor who had deemed their family environment unsuitable to grow up.
The children have already left this orphanage and are being monitored by specialists, to determine the psychological trauma they have suffered, but also to create appropriate conditions to store what they have experienced in the orphanage.
The Deputy Minister informed that the orphanage in question already has multiple controls, while all children housed in it will undergo psychiatric examinations. It was also revealed that there was a previous investigation against this institution, as it was said that it housed more children than were reported to the competent bodies.
