We know very well that there are many adults, who today have turned into sexual predators looking for typical victims, who have just turned 14, in order not to have problems with the law.
We think that Albania should take a step to protect children from violence and sexual exploitation. We will soon ask the Albanian Parliament for the age of entering into sexual intercourse, ie the age of consent, to be 16 years old, approximating the legislation of most EU countries.
If we refer to the United States of America that has a lot of experience in child protection, where there, it mentions the fact that, it is age 16 when they start having sex, the person with whom the teenager has sex should be less than 5 years difference. If it is more than 5 years then it is considered as a pedophile relationship.
