The fire involved an apartment in the ‘Xhabije’ neighborhood of Shkodra, while an elderly man lost his life as a result of the flames.
Sources for Top Channel suggest that from the first information it is learned that a person was left inside the apartment that was burning and lost his life. It is learned that the victim was a 72-year-old man, who was ill and paralyzed.
Only an elderly couple lived in the apartment, who were heated by gas. It is suspected that the fire was caused by a gas cylinder. Residents of the neighborhood and a German tourist, who was passing by, immediately intervened after the flames. They managed to get the victim’s wife out of there, while it was impossible to get the elderly man out.
Police and firefighters immediately arrived at the scene and made it possible to extinguish the flames.
There is still no official announcement from the police.
