The Slovenian Parliament approved today, after several hours of debate, a legal package to mitigate the consequences of the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, whose financial weight is estimated at 240 million euros.
This is the 10th aid package since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic. Among the planned incentives are a one-time supplement for retirees and the elderly, a supplement to the salaries of health care workers, one-time benefits for newborns, as well as bonuses for civil protection members and student volunteers who participated in combat measures. epidemics.
The legal intervention package includes several measures to help the economy through the Entrepreneurship Fund, partial reimbursement of costs for the purchase of self-test tests of employees in the company, as well as extends the validity of free tourist and hotel coupons already issued, which can used until mid-2022.
For such a legal package proposed by the Government, 46 deputies voted, mainly from the ruling coalition, while 42 were against. In the debate, the opposition claimed that the measures were unbalanced and that it was a kind of unsystematic financial bonus for certain groups, to attract voters before the parliamentary elections scheduled for the end of April 2022.
According to the Croatian news agency Hina, several hundred people protested against the government measures and the mandatory confirmation during the debate on the legal package in front of the Parliament building.
