German surfer Sebastian Steudtner has set a Guinness World Record for the biggest surfing wave.
The record was set by the 37-year-old on October 29, 2020 at Praia do Norte beach in Nazaré, Portugal.

The wave was 26.2 meters, breaking the previous record of Brazilian Rodrigo Koxa, who surfed on a 24.4 meter wave on November 8, 2017.
It is the fifth time that Nazareth Beach stands out as the scene of the biggest waves in the world.
Praia do Norte beach has optimal characteristics for surfing due to the geological phenomenon known as the “Nazarene Canyon”, a 170 km long and 5 km deep fracture in the seabed that pushes the wave from the Atlantic Ocean to the shore.
