Democratic Party Vice President Jorida Tabaku has called for the unification of the Democratic Party to enable the achievement of the intended victory.
During the meeting of the PD Parliamentary Group, Tabaku said that from September 9 he will seek a union for all factors of the Democratic Party.
She added that the result obtained in the last local elections hurt them but the other side did not achieve anything, so only together we can manage to face Edi Rama.
“I did not prefer to make the internal discussion media. We can not say that we are good. I was engaged in media communication, I was not able to get involved like other colleagues. I got involved the last 4 days. I thank the colleagues who also voted in parliament in the Commission of Inquiry. I wish I had, despite the divisions, had taken a stand that day. In politics we are distinguished by resilience.
From September 9 I asked for reunion, I asked to be together. The result we got on the field, hurt us. The other side also achieved nothing. So only together and from us can we succeed. In Vora I was told that since April 25 there has been no one on the ground from the DP. “We can not be an office party,” Tabaku said.
Tabaku stressed that we are not in politics for chairs, but to represent people. According to her, if necessary, she resigns as an MP because work is a responsibility, not an attempt for an individual chair.
Further, she called on all mayors to find a way for the factors in the DP to unite and move forward
“In every meeting, I asked not to exclude people. I’m not into chair politics. We are to represent the people. I am ready to leave office as an MP. I do not consider the position as a providence, but as a responsibility. It is not the individual career in play, neither of Basha, nor of Jorida, it is PD in play. Everyone has to go over it and see what this unifying step is. The desire to get out of here where we are exists. I believe chairman you need to take a step back. “Let’s find a way for the factors in the DP to unite and for us to move forward,” she added.
Also, Tabaku stressed that today the DP should all be in protest, to show that they are an alternative governing force and to be closer to the people who voted for them to be there. She added that they should come out on their own to bring out the DP and stand in front of Rama.
“I believe we should have been in protest today. They expect us to face Edi Rama, not each other. We have been voted for a governing alternative and we should be such an alternative. We must be a party that supports the citizens, to be on the ground. To be simple, that we are in government for the third time. Today my battle is with Edi Rama, I have no personal ambitions. We have to get over ourselves. How to stand on our own and bring out the PD. We saw where we are, we need to see how we rebuild. I do not know what the mechanism is, but I can say that what happened in these months brought us to this situation. “We have to overcome it for the Democrats and the Albanians,” she concludes.
