The Border Police Services in Kakavija, as a result of the increase of controls in order to prevent and crack down on illegality, based on the risk analysis, at the exit of the Republic of Albania, have passed for a detailed control in the second line, citizen AB, 45 year old, resident in Lezha and resident in Athens, who was traveling as a passenger on the Lezha-Athens bus.
During the control exercised by the Border Police services, in cooperation with Frontex and the customs services, 20,950 euros were found in the bag of the 45-year-old, which this citizen had not declared. The amount of money was seized as material evidence.
At the end of the first actions committed by the specialists of the Section for Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime in DVP Gjirokastra, the citizen AB was prosecuted for the criminal offenses “Failure to declare money and valuables at the border” and “Laundering of criminal offense or criminal activity ”.
