A serious accident occurred in Italy where a group of children, playing in the backyard of a garden in L’Aquila, were suddenly hit by a car that penetrated the outer fence.
A 4-year-old boy Tommaso died on the spot, while another is in serious condition in hospital, while 5 other children have received minor injuries.
Italian media report that inside the car, parked downhill, was a child 8 to 10 years old, temporarily left alone by the mother and it is thought that the child may have accidentally raised the handbrake of the car.
The other children hit by the car are from 3 to 5 years old.
Meanwhile, the kindergarten teachers, although shocked by the event, tried to manage the situation in the best possible way, say the local media, calming the parents of the children.
Due to protocol and time, not all parents have been able to accompany the children within the emergency vehicles and this has made the situation even more delicate.
