Manchester United have the biggest transfer losses in Europe in the last decade, according to the Swiss-based research institute CIES Football Observatory.
Since 2012, United has a negative net expenditure of more than one billion euros, far more than Manchester City. The study found that the “Red Devils” have spent 1.545 billion euros on transfers, returning 470 million euros in player sales.
Manchester United broke the transfer record in the Premier League when they signed Paul Pogba in 2016 for 89.5 million pounds and have decided not to make any return for the midfielder, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
