Three-year-old dog Leon has finally reunited with his owner Sebastien Dos Santos Borges after being chased by the organizers of the famous Iditarod sled race.
About three months after losing during the extreme race in Alaska, three-year-old Husky Leon was found by organizers after a long search operation.
McGrath Village officials in Alaska contacted organizers when Leon was seen in a residential area of the community.
He regularly approached an area farm where the owners had left food out for Leon in order to catch him.
Members of the community had managed to catch the missing dog, and on Saturday, June 4, he joined Mr. Sebastien, who came to Anchorage, Alaska, that same day.
The organizers of Iditarod wrote in a post: “It is a great pleasure that our prayers and thoughts for Leon have received an answer.”
“Organizers, volunteers and donors from all over the McGrath region helped find Leon.
“Alaska is a special place for its community spirit. The last race was very special, welcome home Leon! ”
