Skopje had a poor game against Lincoln Red Imps FC in the transfer, but thanks to a deep 3-0 home win, they managed to get a historic qualification for the second round of the Champions League, where they will face Dinamo Zagreb. Beyond what will happen to the well-known Croatian team, the Albanian team is certain to participate until the Conference League play-offs, which means that they will collect at least 1 million euros.
Skopje’s expedition to Gibraltar, in fact, had many problems before the match. One of the team’s key players, Walid Hamidi, lost his passport and was unable to enter Gibraltar shortly before the match. The right winger, despite all the efforts of people from the club, still had to stay in Spain. He urgently went to Madrid to the Algerian embassy in order to obtain a new travel document.
This is why coach Goce Sedloski made last-minute changes to the team. Zlatkov was in the starting line-up, but the others also had to change places. It is clear that Hamid is among the best in the Skopje team, without him some things are difficult.
But now all this belongs to the past, Skopje achieved its goal, qualified for the second qualifying round of the Champions League, where there will be a special duel with Dinamo Zagreb and where Arijan Ademi and Stefan Ristovski are the protagonists. And what is most important, the coffers of the club will be full.
