The European Council will meet in Brussels on Wednesday in what is considered the most important meeting in the last 10 years.
It is expected to decide on the European future of Albania and Northern Macedonia.
At the press conference with the Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin, Prime Minister Edi Rama did not show optimism in receiving a green light from Brussels for the launch of the first Albania-EU intergovernmental conference.
“I told the prime minister that I do not expect anything new in this Council, however until the end, the European Union, European countries, including Finland, are trying with Bulgaria to open a path of reason and to liberate the process. We are also very grateful for that. “
The Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin, from Tirana said that the EU delays should end.
“We want to see all the countries of the Western Balkans join the European Union once they have met the criteria. Our priority is to start membership negotiations with Northern Macedonia and Albania without any delay. We want to support Albania for its EU membership. Albania also has a strong voice globally. We highly value your role when it comes to representation in international forums. “I want to congratulate you on your successful work at the United Nations, the Security Council.”
The Finnish Prime Minister thanked Albania for its strong and clear support in support of Finland’s membership in NATO.
