After three wins in a row, Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw in the transfer window against Newcastle as the Red Devils are unable to get close to the Champions zone as they are ranked seventh, seven points away from fourth-placed Arsenal. The last appearance against the “coal miners” was disappointing, while under the cyclone of criticism, Cristiano Ronaldo also ended up.
Recently, for coach Ralph Rangnick has come an advice from the former English national football player, Gabriel Agbonlahor, who thinks that Ronaldo’s presence on the field is preventing Rashford, Sancho or even Greenwood from showing their full potential.
“It seems to me that Ronaldo is only interested in his goals. He was constantly complaining with his hands up because they were not following him and his teammates were not giving him opportunities. He then left the field very nervous and I also think the bad behavior he would have had in the locker rooms.
His behavior does not leave me in good taste. If I were in the place of Sancho, Greenwood or Rashford I would be afraid to try the gate because every time they took charge and hit, Ronaldo was upstairs looking to be served.
The harmony in the team does not look good and the form of Rashford and Greenwood has come down after Ronaldo approached the team, it seems like they can not express themselves on the field and always think that they should follow Ronaldo and create scoring opportunities for him .
Before Ronaldo was transferred, Greenwood was always dribbling opponents and hitting the square, now he no longer does that. Ronaldo is a great player, with a great career, but he is no longer the same player. United made the best game of the season against Chelsea, with Ronaldo on the bench. “I think Rangnick should put him on the bench more often,” said the former Aston Villa striker.
