The picture shows the shocking moments when an animal caretaker was accidentally crushed to death by an elephant, as as he hit him with a whip he slipped and found himself under the giant animal.
The video shows 40-year-old Arun Panikkar washing the elephant he cared for in the southern Indian town of Karappuzha.
He is seen trying to drop the elephant to land in order to clear his back, but the animal hesitates.
Security cameras then show that Panikar remains trapped under the massive elephant, crushed to death despite the efforts of another man seeking to move the elephant.
Consequently he uses a stick to make the animal stand up and then pulls the guardian from under his body.
But it was too late for the effort and examinations showed that Panikkar had been killed instantly.
Investigations continue into the tragedy of the elephant owned by a local charity.
