Italian Embassy in Tirana: Respect for the decision of the opposition leader Basha to leave the post and for his contribution to the consolidation of Albanian democracy at the helm of the Party. Now a new stage is opening. The hope is that the Democratic Party will be able to overcome the current difficulties, find a new unitary impetus and elect a new leadership through a more transparent, democratic and inclusive process. A strong democracy needs strong opposition.
