The rains of the last three days in the northeast of the country, have affected the improvement of the water situation in Lake Fierza, while it is expected to increase in the following days.
The river flows that supply water to the largest catchment basin in the country currently reach 800 cubic meters per second.
The current lake quota is 263.04 meters from 296 meters which is the maximum allowable limit and the inflows are optimal. Thus, compared to 6 days ago, the water level in Fierza has increased by 4 meters. On March 28, the level of Lake Fierza was 259.53 m, while the inflows were 100 cubic meters per second. Despite the amount of rainfall in recent days, the Fierza hydropower plant continues not to produce energy in order to preserve water reserves which suffered a historic decline due to drought and energy production by significantly reducing the water level to 257 meters, the lowest level in 20 vite. The optimal point in the lake is 271 meters, the minimum 244 meters while the maximum when there is abundant rainfall goes to 296 meters. In the annual averages of water level measurement in the period March-June, the water has been in the quota of 276 meters.
