The opposition has the opportunity to send to parliament the candidacies for the new President of the Republic, in the second and third round.
The leader of the Republican Movement, Fatmir Mediu, in an interview for the show “Top Talk” with journalist Denis Dyrnjaja mentioned some names from the field of politics that could be the candidates that will be proposed in the assembly.
There are people within the opposition who have had integrity and worked, says Mediu, mentioning here Halim Kosova, Majlinda Bregu, Dashamir Shehu.
Further, adds the chairman of the Republican Movement, “there are other figures who are out of political life. We should not exclude people from politics, then there are others who have a strong voice in the media and public opinion, sometimes even more powerful than the voice of the opposition itself. The process is done when everyone is involved”.
The Democratic Party is more divided than ever, with one group supporting Enkelejd Alibeaj and the other group supporting Sali Berisha. But, at this important moment for the elections of the head of state, the opposition must unite and come up with a single candidate, Mediu emphasizes.
“It is not in the interest of the opposition to have three negotiating groups. The rational would require a single opposition candidate. we must definitely be united as opposition. We need to establish a full, consensual relationship, to then seek consensus from the other party.
We should not walk in separate positions, but in common opposition positions.
For me, the priority now is to elect a joint president by organizing a joint opposition, with a common position, which can then serve as a joint opposition in political relations for local and parliamentary elections.”.
