This morning, a part of the Afghan refugees sheltered in Shengjin, since September last year, have risen in protest today.
One of the five organizations financing their stay in Albania has not paid its hotel dues since January this year.
In these conditions the Afghans seek to find a solution, as they may be left between four roads.
Also on their banners was written “We are forgotten” thus making a call to the embassy to speed up visa procedures.
The administrator of the resort where the Afghans are accommodated, Bledar Shima said that they have not made any decision to expel them from the resort even though they have not paid their dues for 6 months.
He also added that so far no solution has been found to the problem and the intervention of the Albanian government has been requested for the implementation of the contract.
Since September last year, about 1600 Afghan citizens have been sheltered in Shengjin, where 600 of them have received US or Canadian visas and have left our country, while 1000 of them are still waiting for visas.
