The Sunny Hill music festival is expected to be held at the beginning of August in Germia Park in Pristina.
The mayor of the Municipality of Pristina, Përparim Rama, announced on Saturday the location of the festival, which was not known until now.
He said that the necessary permits have been secured for holding the festival in this park on August 4, 5, 6 and 7, 2022.
“Due to space limitations in Germia Park, Sunny Hill Festival this year will have a limited capacity of participants, despite the growing potential and needs of the festival”Rama wrote on Facebook.
He added that Sunny Hill Festival has pledged that all the park space that will be used will be used with increased care, and that the cleaning and regeneration of the park “will be done in record time, even with the necessary investments from side of Sunny Hill Festival”.
The information on the location of the festival comes a few days after it was announced that the festival will eventually be held in Pristina, after an initial decision to move the festival out of Kosovo.
On June 14, the founder and organizer of this festival, Dukagjin Lipa, announced that Sunny Hill will be moved to Tirana, “due to the many delays caused by the lack of response and the final decision on the use of the space for the festival”.
The parties have been discussing the granting of a plot of 17 hectares for 99 years in the village of Bërnica e Poshtme.
However, according to the statement of June 20, the parties have expressed readiness “for the issue of long-term land use to be discussed for a while until a sustainable solution is found”.
It was also announced there that a special edition with other singers will be held in Tirana on August 26, 27 and 28.
The festival was founded by the Sunny Hill Foundation, of the world-famous singer, Dua Lipa, and the first edition was held in 2018.
The 2020 edition was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
