Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic has been diagnosed with a coronavirus, his cabinet announced on Thursday.
According to a statement to the media, Djukanovic is feeling well and has mild symptoms.
“In accordance with the epidemiological measures, the president has been placed in self-isolation, from where he will perform his duties,” the statement said.
Due to contact with an infected person, Djukanovic has already canceled meetings, including one with Turkish Parliament President Mustafa Shentop, who is on an official visit to Montenegro.
Otherwise, Montenegro on Thursday registered 272 new cases of coronavirus, after testing over 2,100 samples.
Currently active cases in this country with over 600,000 inhabitants are over 2,000.
