Protests against the price of oil continue. On Friday morning, protests took place in Lushnja and Korça.
The Lushnja protest took place in a place called “Driver’s Holiday” in the national axis Lushnja-Fier, where residents of administrative units gathered. They blocked the road for more than half an hour.
Students in Korça have protested against the increase in the price of oil as they say that they are among the most affected. The increase in the price of oil has led to an increase to double the number of transport tickets, which according to them makes the movement unaffordable. A student from Pogradec has to pay 500 lekë every day round trip while one from Devolli 400 lekë, which according to them is unaffordable for families.
Meanwhile, the police announced that they have arrested dozens of people for blocking the roads during Thursday’s protests in Lezha, Shkodra, Elbasan and Durres.
