A perfectionist thinks he should reach the peak in everything he does.
They tend to control the situation and be great critics of themselves and others. Such people focus on mistakes, and things that are not done at their best, in the workplace.
Do you belong to the group of perfectionists?
Of course, perfection is not a bad thing. The desire to be the best version of yourself is good tendency. And yet, persons who have a tendency to achieve perfection also tend to exaggerate it. Because, all the time, in everything they do, they want to do the best of the good. Undoubtedly, this way of thinking is created by many factors: external or internal, and especially by social pressure. When it comes to here, they hurt themselves by seeking results that are not “down to earth”, both for themselves and for others. So, even the stress level will be higher than usual.
Melody Wilding, a professor of human behavior at Hunter College and author of Trust Yourself, says there are three kinds of perfectionists.
Perfectionists described by society
These people are very critical. They feel a lot of pressure to be the best and get upset when they are rejected by others. External standards that come from family, workplace culture, society, etc., can lead to anxiety and low self-esteem.
Others oriented perfectionists
Perfectionists who are oriented toward others hold high standards and can be critical and judgmental to the point of destroying them. It is difficult to build working relationships in these conditions.
Self-oriented perfectionists
These people are more organized and dedicated. They set high standards for themselves, in life and career but, are willing to go after their goals. Self-oriented perfectionists generally have higher productivity and success. They display positive emotions and motivation.

The danger of being a perfectionist at work
In most cases, the goal of perfection in the workplace is more harmful than helpful. The reason is this: it promotes high levels of stress.
Reluctance to do tasks: Fear of failure, keeps you away from tasks at work.
The problem with time management: Since you are afraid of failure, then most of the time you spend doing research, improvising, arranging details and perfecting the presentation. This makes it difficult to meet the set deadlines.
Poor health: As long as you are constantly worrying and stressed, you will also have trouble sleeping. In this way, stress will affect your mental health and consequently other health concerns.
Lack of growth: If you take criticism as personal, you will find it difficult to grow in the workplace.
Insufficient productivity: Stress and anxiety are the main causes that will not allow you to reach your goals.
