Faced with years of staff shortages, the traditional Bavarian restaurant “Grünen Baum” in the small town of Dormitz, found the solution in technology: he has hired a robot named “Hilde” and everyone looks happy.
The robot takes the dishes from the kitchen and takes them to the dining room where the waiter waits. The latter then puts the dirty dishes in Hilde’s basket, which she picks up and takes to the kitchen.
According to the restaurant owner, the robot has saved him almost 1,000 euros a month.
“We decided to get a robot due to lack of staff. It is NOT a complete replacement, but it is a great help to the waiters”.
Many customers are surprised but also delighted to see such a modern development here in Dormitz.
They do not oppose the idea, because in any case there is a waiter to serve the meal and take the order.
“Customers, in fact, are not against this innovation, but the human factor always remains the most preferred”.
Robots are probably the future, it is not known. However, for me it is always more pleasant to face a friendly waitress.
