Today is the third day of the protest for the increase of the oil price, which consequently has led to the increase of other prices.
Dozens of citizens have gathered in the square in Tirana, warning that the next day at 11:00 will be the biggest protest as people from all over Albania will come. Meanwhile, protests are taking place in parallel cities today.
Lezhë – Citizens are sitting cross-legged on the road, causing long queues of vehicles after blocking the Lezha-Shkodra highway. It did not last long because the police intervened.
Durrës – Protesters have also gathered in the city of Durrës this afternoon. They are against the increase of prices while some of them hold in their hands the banner “protest too for the increase of salaries and pensions”. There are increased presence of police forces in the protest that are to prevent any road blockage. The Confederation of Trade Unions joins the protest. Protesters are moving towards the Dajlan Bridge that connects the city of Durres with the highway, while some are trying to block traffic on the road parallel to the siege of the port.
Bulqiza – The protest also started in Bulqiza after the protesters blocked the national road. Police are trying to stop protesters to march on the street.
After the reaction of Prime Minister Edi Rama, the price of oil this Friday has started to decrease, but according to a surveillance of Top Channel correspondents across the country, it is noticed that some companies still abuse by keeping the price higher than others.
