The Tirana Zoo, completely transformed and reconceptualized to suit visitors, but also the animals that will live there, is well on its way to being completed within a short time.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, who visited the construction site where the latest works are already being carried out, said that this investment is a gift for the children of the capital.
“The Zoo will definitely add value to Tirana, especially the neighborhood here, which used to have value, but imagine a Zoo that has been sick for years – like many of the animals that have been part of the zoo here, so has the community. when he saw that the Zoo had turned into a landfill. Of course, not everything is done right away. “Once we started from” Skënderbej “Square, then the Bazaar, then the Small Ring, now the Big Ring continues, the Castle, the Lake and finally, we are a little while away from the opening of the Zoo”, said Veliaj.
The mayor added that other types of animals have been ordered, which will be added to the Zoo.
“We have ordered, with the insistence and opportunities of the Prime Minister, for some exotic animals, lions, tigers, who are in the process of coming here. This procedure also has its bureaucracies because it is not so easy to transport such animals. “But I’m glad that 90% of the species houses we had, or others we plan to bring to the Tirana Zoo, are now ready.”, he said.
