The candidate for the leader of the Democratic Party in Kukës, Irel Elezi withdrew from the race, only hours after the start of voting.
Through a reaction on Facebook, Elezi states that the membership voting lists do not match those of June and according to him, “Rithemelimi” are operating with the lists of Lulzim Basha.
He lists the manipulation of the race and the lists as the reasons why he resigned as a candidate for the DP in Kukës.
“Since yesterday after receiving the membership voting lists, I verified that they do not match the June 2021 lists, over 200 names.
Consequently, I asked the re-establishment group for the lists drafted by the founding group during the reorganization process after the December 11 assembly.
They claim that they did not compile lists during this process.
Consequently, they are operating with Lulzim Basha’s lists and do not declare their origin.
I asked the commission to stop the process before starting and to verify the origin of these lists.
I submitted the complaint to the commission, in case of unilateral continuation I declare:
Withdrawal from the race due to manipulation of lists and competition“, Explains Elezi.
The re-establishment is holding elections today in the branches of Pogradec, Saranda, Delvina, Patos, Kukes and Vlora.
