British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has said that “there is strong evidence” that Russian President Vladimir Putin is a “war criminal”.
US President Joe Biden has described the Russian leader as such, a statement that could escalate diplomatic relations even further.
Truss told the British broadcaster, the BBC, that he did not think Biden’s statement was wrong.
“There is very, very strong evidence that he is,” Truss said.
“There is very, very strong evidence that war crimes were committed, and that Vladimir Putin is behind them.
“It is the duty of the International Criminal Court to decide who is and who is not a war criminal, and the best thing we can do now is send evidence, something we are doing.”
