Turkey is planning a fifth dose of the Covid-19 vaccine for certain groups of citizens. The news was published by the daily “Sabah”, citing a statement by health authorities.
It is learned that people who have received two doses of the Sinovac vaccine and two doses of the Pfizer vaccine can get the fifth dose if at least three months have passed since the last dose of the vaccine they received.
They can be vaccinated with Sinovac, Pfizer or Turkovac developed by Turkey.
Vaccination with the Turkish vaccine began last week after health authorities in the country gave permission for its urgent use.
Experts hope the vaccine developed in Turkey will avoid the lack of anti-Covid vaccines.
According to data from the Ministry of Health, over 56.8 million people have received the first dose of the vaccine, while over 51.4 million have received two doses of the vaccine
