Turkey has registered another 11,770 cases of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours, including 702 symptomatic patients, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of the virus in the country to more than 2.76 million.
According to the Ministry of Health, the country has also registered 64 other victims of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 28,965.
Also, another 7,291 patients won the battle against coronavirus, while so far over 2.61 million patients affected by COVID-19 have recovered. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, Turkish health authorities have conducted almost 40 million suspected tests for COVID-19, including 138,592 tests performed within the last 24 hours.
Recent figures show that the number of COVID-19 patients in critical condition is currently 1,230. On January 14th, Turkey launched a massive campaign against the coronavirus, starting with health workers along with the country’s top officials to encourage public confidence in vaccines.
