Proud of around 3,000 football shirts, Turkish fan Abdulkadir Cengiz has one of the largest collections in the world of its kind.
After receiving his first Sakaryaspor heart team jersey in northern Turkey in 1985, Cengiz has consistently collected sportswear, which he displays at the place where he works.
Speaking to the local network Anadolu, Cengiz says that he has started collecting jerseys of different teams since he was a child, while his favorite team is Sakaryaspor.
“I used to collect my shirts going to matches, sometimes asking the players to give them to me. “But before, the shirts were made only for the match and it was difficult to get them.”
But unwavering in his passion Cengiz says he continued to add soccer jerseys to his collection, which he hopes to expand to 5,000 pieces.
The 45-year-old says he is looking for a bigger place to display his collection.
Cengiz says he wants to show off each of his shirts, organizing them into separate divisions for European, Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern teams.
