Two Syrian citizens have been handcuffed in Rinas, where one of them was wanted internationally.
During the detailed check of the documentation of citizens entering from Albania, through Rinas airport, the Police services in cooperation with Interpol Tirana have detained the Syrian citizen WA, 42 years old.
After the verifications carried out, it turned out that he was wanted internationally by Interpol Abu Dhabi, for the criminal offense of “Financial Fraud”, since the security measure “Arrest in prison” was assigned to him.
The 42-year-old was provisionally arrested, with the aim of extraditing him to the United Arab Emirates.
Also, during the control of the documentation of the citizens leaving Albania, through the airport of Rinas, the Police services created suspicions about a foreign citizen who had presented an Estonian passport.
After the check at the Border Police laboratory, it turned out that the passport presented by citizen HC had the data of another citizen and had a border control stamp, suspected to be forged.
At the end of the investigative actions, the citizen HC, with Syrian citizenship, was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses “Forgery of letters, passports or visas” and “Forgery of seals, stamps or forms”.
According to the police, the materials were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
