Ukraine has asked Turkey to stop the Russian-flagged cargo ship Zhibek Zholy, according to a document seen by the Reuters news agency.
The vessel is believed to contain a cargo of grain taken from the Russian-occupied port of Berdyansk in the southeast.
The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine, citing information received from the country’s maritime administration, said that the “Zhibek Zholy” had received about 4,500 tons of grain.
This is after it was reported earlier that Russia has started transporting wheat from the occupied territories to Ukraine.
Kiev has repeatedly accused Russia of stealing grain from occupied areas, which Moscow has denied, but fears of food shortages have grown.
